The Go Box: A Portable Fly Tying BenchOrganized.Efficient.Portable.The Go Box is a portable workstation for fly tyers. It is designed for the tyer who does not have room for a full-sized tying desk at home, or who wants to take his tying materials "on the go" to the stream or campground. It is finely crafted of hardwood with dovetail construction and a furniture quality finish, which is equally at home in the study or streamside. The Go Box holds 38 spools of thread, 11 colors of dubbing in the built-in dispenser, and has magnetic bins for 10 hook sizes. Five springs on either side of the workspace keep tools in place, with two larger springs to hold bottles of cement or paint, and 4 springs on the work surface keep tying materials in place even when tying outside in the wind. Two magnets on the work surface keep your tools handy and also hold finished flies while the head cement dries. A clamp in the center holds a vise, so you can tie right on the box. The drawer has a cedar bottom to keep your materials safe from critters, with a removable divider to one side to help you stay organized. The Go Box from Freestone Designs is your complete fly tying solution. The Go Box is hand constructed from a selection of hardwood, with an accent wood used on the drawer front and the dubbing cover, and a primary wood used on the rest of the box.Maple: Hard Maple, sometimes called Rock Maple, is a fine grained, light colored wood. It's color will deepen to a golden hue over time.Walnut: Walnut is a deep, warm brown with beautiful texture.Cherry: Cherry is a beautiful wood that is the color of raw steak when freshly cut, but darkens over time to a deep, rich reddish brown.Oak: Red Oak has a slightly coarser grain than Maple or Cherry, which gives it a slightly rustic look.**Please Note: Each Go Box is built to order. Lead time is 4 to 6 weeks. Some selections may be available immediately. Please call to confirm availability of your desired design.
